School Based Health Clinics in Little Rock, Arkansas

Vision exam at a Little Rock School-Based Health Clinic

The Little Rock School District has established three school-based health clinics in six of its community schools. These clinics, located in historically underserved communities, provide primary care, dental care, vision clinics, and behavioral health services.

Little Rock’s School-Based Health Clinics are committed to social justice and food security. At every well-child visit in its primary care clinics, a Social Determinants of Health screener is used to determine the needs of the patient and to connect them with appropriate resources. The Clinics are also committed to improving the health literacy of its patients and families.

All of this is made possible through the collaboration of the Little Rock School District with community and municipal partners, and a variety of funding sources including local, state, and federal grants.
