Using Data to Understand Needs and Priorities
To develop strategic improvement plans, the Batesville School District (located in Arkansas) regularly surveys parents with the goal of building and sustaining partnerships with families—critical to the community school model. Data from its annual Parent Comprehensive Needs Assessment are shared with the community, helping to build partnerships and organize resources to support the development of its students.
Survey data help shape programs that address challenging home environments, the need for mental health services, parental support issues, and extracurricular activities, as well as the academic experience.
