STRIVE Final Update Fact Sheet, August 2016. STRIVE and the other vaccine trials are complete, but the vaccine still has a ways to go before it is approved. As part of the final briefings, STRIVE distributed a fact sheet to explain the next steps to get the vaccine licensed. The first step is for the manufacturer to compile all the information about the vaccine for review by regulatory authorities like the FDA to determine if the vaccine is safe and effective. If so, it could be licensed for use. Then, regulatory and advisory bodies around the world would need to make specific recommendation about who should receive the vaccine.
