Community Liaison Unit standing by a banner celebrating Asian American/Black unity
Title
Community Liaison Unit standing by a banner celebrating Asian American/Black unity
Description
During the pandemic, Asian Health Services (AHS) organized healing events to address the disruptions caused by COVID-19, as well as eruption of anti-Asian hate. In addition to food distribution events, the Community Liaison Unit organized a joint Asian American/African American unity celebration. Both communities were traumatized by unrest during the pandemic, and unity celebrations were one way to address this trauma.
